TWO GREAT VINTAGE JACKETS

I've been collecting vintage jackets since I was in high school. I think jackets are the core of every vintage collection.  I just recently found this amazing YSL green leather jacket with gold sunbursts on E-bay, and immediately thought of my 80's Moschino jacket with lion doorknockers.  Jane did a little photo shoot with both pieces, and paired them with vintage Christopher Ross belts.....

 

 

 

 

 

 

RIP Daul kim.  I always loved your blog--I like to fork myself.  You will be so missed.  Her last post---say hi to forever??  Did someone know??  I mean her blog had such a dark slant--I don't know..I'm just torn up about this!

WEDNESDAY POST

I was looking at some of my favorite home decor blogs this morning, and noticed that Desire to Inspire has had a complete makeover!  Looks so nice, it really makes me want to give my blog a makeover.  Here are a few images from Desire to Inspire .

 

 

 

 

I love this blog!  

We are counting down the days until we leave for Paris.  I'm so nervous about the trip.  Jane and I have both managed to catch a cold, and I'm desperately hoping Carol doesn't catch it.  I'm afraid that one of us will trip and fall in our gowns.  I'm nervous about the dress that Chanel has provided for Jane.  It's beautiful,  ( I mean really beautiful) but weighs a ton.  She has to wear it all day on Friday for photos, and I'm really nervous for her.  Lastly--the flying thing again.  I hate flying.  I so wish I could get comfortable with it like everyone else, but I'm a total basket case.  For the first time ever, I'm going to take a Xanax before we take off.  I've been told this really helps.  (I don't like taking medication either)  I'll report back with the results.  We're bringing our cameras and computers to Paris, but I'm not sure how much we will be able to blog, we had a hard time with the Internet last trip.  I promise to get lots of photos--Carol's dress is gorgeous!  Here is what I'm wearing---vintage Scaasi from the 80's from Archive Vintage.

 

LURVE MAGAZINE AND CHRISTOPHER ROSS

OUT AND ABOUT

Running errands in a jacket by Gryphon.  I love this piece!  It works great as a warmer coat here in Texas or just a cute jacket to throw on over jeans.  Jane and I have a special project in the pipeline with Gryphon for spring--we're very excited about it.

 

Worn with LGB tie dye jeans purchased this summer in Tokyo, Allejandro Ingelmo boots, and huge Giles and bros necklace.

 

 

All of Gryphon's jackets have such great detail.

I love the slight flair on the LGB jeans--I wish there were more jean silhouettes like this.  Anyone know of any?  The cut is perfect for the Allejandro Inglemo boots.  (I can no longer stomach the word bootie--boots from now on)

SHOE SALE

The only thing I love more than shoes--are shoes on sale!  The BagSnob tipped me off to a great sale at Neiman's Last Call over the weekend.....

 

I was afraid there were none to be found in my giant shoe size, but just when I was about to give up, I spied my wish shoes from Chloe Fall/08.....was I dreaming?---the leaf boot in my size  at 75% off!!!  Yes!!!

 

When these shoes first showed, Jane and I could not warm up to them.  Over time, we both softened to the idea of the leaf shoes and boots.  Lately they have become an obsession and we've both been stalking YOOX in hopes of finding a pair in either of our sizes.   I loved this entire collection from Chloe so much...below are a few more of the shoes from Style.com.

 

 

 

I LIKE BIG BUTTS, AND I CANNOT LIE.....

....at least on a necklace.  Debuting a new vintage necklace purchased over the weekend.  She was dubbed the "Big Bottom Lady."  I think she must be a feminist relic left over from the 60's or 70's.  

She is my new favorite necklace without a doubt.  I embrace all of her curves.

TOY JOY

While we were in Austin, we stopped at the most incredible toy store--TOY JOY.    I thought it was every bit as great as KiddyLand in Tokyo.  Here are a few pictures we snapped in the store.  Thanks to all the staff helping us that night, you guys were so much fun!!

Finally got the vintage furs up on the site, so have a look if you get a chance.  We will be shutting the site down in a week or so to get ready for our holiday offering---I've got a pretty great collection started!!

At home today going through items to put on the site for the holidays--I had to stop and snap a photo of all of these guys--they inspired me.  Much more to come...

ENOUGH!!

I get 100 percent of my news on line, and for the past couple of months, when I click on a news video I want to see, I'm assaulted with visions of the Charmin Ultra Bears over and over again--and this one in particular.

 

I don't think I need to say anything else---enough already!!  Talk about too much information!  While I'm ranting a bit---this little phrase is really getting to me as well....

 "I wanted to reach out to you." 

 I get several e-mails from people wanting to reach out to me everyday.  They want to reach out and advertise, or reach out and tell me about a great business idea, or reach out and tell me about my inheritance left behind in Nigeria.  Enough!

 

It's okay to send an e-mail, or call on the phone, but no reaching out please.  It just sounds creepy.
