Exciting News.....

My collection of Christopher Ross belts is about to expand.  I was recently contacted by a very close friend of Christopher, and was able to purchase a good part of her own Christopher  Ross collection.  Should be arriving next week, I can't wait to show you guys!  There will be new pieces that I have never seen in person before.....

I'll post photos as soon as they arrive!!!  Everyone have a great weekend...and thanks for all the comments on the new room.  I will take them all under consideration......

Today

I'm putting everything back together today, we're almost finished.  Here is a picture of my living room.  I decided to go with a large mirror purchased from Anthropologie for the fireplace as opposed to painting, the girls were very against painting the ceiling or fireplace.  The rug is patchwork cowhide......

Here are the beams in the dining room.  The light makes them appear a little red, but you can get the idea.  I just realized it's very nerve wracking to make all of these changes in your home, and then post for the world to see......

Farewell....

Yesterday I picked up my last copy of Domino Magazine.  I'm truly saddened that Conde Nast has pulled the plug on one of the best magazines out there.  I have saved every copy, and I'm so thankful I didn't throw them away.  I hope they keep their website up....and I really hope that a small miracle happens and Conde Nast wakes up and realizes they've made a horrible mistake.  A few photos from Domino.....

Ann D.

I got the Ann D. spring boot.  It really is spring version of the Fall 08 tall lace up boot.    This is not my foot. The photo was sent to me from Barney's.  I'll show mine off soon.  I think they're great!

On a side note, I do try to answer most of the questions left in comments (usually in a private e-mail sent to the commenter) l but I don't get to all of them.  If you feel something has gone unanswered, please do send me an e-mail!  

Dining Room

I took a quick pic of the dining room this morning.  The painting is finished and now the beams are being attached to the ceiling.  I'll post that later.....

70's Style

First of all--thanks for all the comments and critiques of my new room.  I loved some of the ideas you guys had.  Love the exposed beam idea, however, I have solar tubes in the living room!  (left over relic of the 70's--so appropriate that I'm posting a 70's style home)  I am putting exposed beams in the dining room, and I will post some of that hopefully this week.  Thanks again!! 

Here is a great 70's home with authentic 70's furniture as well.  I have always loved this style.  It looks so glam/California.  I believe this house is actually in New England.  

This is so glamourous!  I picture James Coburn pouring himself a drink. Definitely a masculine home.

A Few More Pictures

Realizing the photos I posted earlier really didn't show much, I snapped a few more.  Carol and I had do a little putting away.....renovation is so messy.  I didn't paint the back wall of my home which is brick.  I left that white.  I'm not sure about it yet, although I don't think painting it the same color as the walls would have been a good option.  Perhaps a lighter shade or warmer?  Jill--I did think about changing the ceiling, however that is totally new territory for me--and suggestions?  

Not sure about the white with the grey....

I love how the Platner chair looks against the grey.....I'm a huge fan of Warren Platner.

Renovation Update

Here are just a few pics of the renovation project.  The arches are done, and the downstairs is painted.  I chose the color Soft Earth from Ralph Lauren.  It's a grey with lots of green undertones.  I hope I made the right choice, it's much darker than all of my stark white I had before, but I think I really like it.

I love the new texture on the walls--my home was built in the 70's and had the original texture which was something awful.  It looked like birds has stepped all over my walls.

Several people have asked about this painting.  I don't know who the artist is, and truthfully, the real painting is on the other side.  It's awful.  I found the painting while junking with my sister, and believe it or not is was slated for the trash.  I'm so fortunate to have found it before it was thrown away.  It is much loved and appreciated now......

I wanted to show everyone this amazing 80's asymmetrical leather jacket I found  this past week in E-bay.  Isn't is great?  Kind of Stevie Nicks...great detail on the sleeve...

Paper Clothes

Found this image on Desire to Inspire .  Another great blog and they update often.  I love paper clothes.  I made a paper jacket once, don't know what I did with it.  I'll have to make something else....

Jane and I got to see this paper Junya Wantanabe trench which resides in Joan Shepp's basement in Philadelphia....she was so kind to show us....
