Banning TVs may sound harsh to alot of kids. But the truth is, they then can focus more on their creative side & imagination to create something fun. Jane is without a doubt the best example! Great article & beautiful photos, Judy! Thanks for sharing! Best - eLLy*

Kat

Great spread of you and Jane! Gorgeous mom and daughter!

Oh what a fabulous article (I just saw in the comments I can go read it online in full since we dont get that mag in the UK) I adore the photos of both you and Jane. Your outfit is amazing how it cascades, and Jane looks like she is queen of the shoes! Take care, Pearl x

I just finnished reading the article and had to laugh when you compare the cost of shoes to other bills, my mum does the same, she often equates costs with 'you could have bought a Chanel with that'! Really lovely article.

Style Odyssey

i really enjoyed this article. the photos are heavenly.
the fact that jane has had no tv growing up and uses her time wisely instead, is a perfect example of what a young person is capable of when their home environment encourages personal growth and creative thought.

This article is absolutely gorgeous, congratulations Judy and Jane! It's great to see such strong views in the article against tv, plus you two look stunning as well.

I didn't really mean to make an anti TV statement. I do watch some shows on Itunes. I like Weeds and Dexter. If I were starting over with my girls, I would have never had a TV for them. The Disney channel gives me the creeps. Any network that could create Hannah Montana and High School Musical should be treated with great suspicion

Wow you guys are all over, congrats! Looks great! :)

Awesome! Both of you are beautiful. =D Look so fabulous! =D

What a wonderful article. I just love the pics of you and Jane.

Oh, wow Judy! You are an amazing woman with an amazing life and I can imagine you're bursting with pride when you look at your beautiful daughters. I don't know how you do it.
On another note. The top pic that is scanned in, shows a backdrop of tiny drawers. I have been scouring etsy for something similar but dont know what that sort of set of small drawers is called, do you?
Thank you and best wishes to you, your family and pooches!

The Photodiarist

Wow! You guys are huge! I remember finding Sea of Shoes over a year ago and sending a link to all of my fashion minded friends. To see Jane become this huge in such a short period is amazing. And I love your blog too -- love your interiors immensely. Great job Jane and Judy.

Rand

I love the comparison between the price of shoes and other things. I can't wait until my mom and I can do the same. keep doing your thing, judy!

Little Clementine

Wow! Congratulations. Very beautiful photos of both of you (:

I LOVE all of the monochromatic neutral and cream colored texture you have going on in the house shot from the article. I also love how you draped the plush mongolian sheep over the harder-edged lucite dining chairs! I've lately been obsessed with incorporating the texture of fur into interiors, this is a great example.

When I saw the photo of your house, I had to go look for this article. Surely it doesn't come to France, but I found it online here:

Totally worth the time. You are amazing.

Hi again,

Sorry Judy for a double post. I have a question re your dining chairs. I also have similar chairs but never thought of putting fur on them. Are they real fur and did you have them custom-cut? Have you had any problem with the everyday use? Thank you so much. It's genius.

I'm late commenting on this article, but I simply must say I love the palate and tone of it all. A while back, I read a New York Times article on J Morgan Puett's Mildred's Lane in PA. (I encourage you to google it; I'm technologically daft and incapable of linking it for you.) Anyway, traces of Ms. Puett's design asthetic just jumped at me while i was looking at these above pictures of you and your home. Just wonderful pictures in that NYTimes article; do check it out.
In addition, do you enjoy the work of Mairthé François Girbaud? Some of their jacket and intricate coat peices remind me of this stunning LGB ensemble you're wearing.
Well, that's all! Love your blog.
