I was looking at these photos that ran in FDLuxe almost two years ago. My house was all white.
Now--it's grey and shades of beige...
Kind of yucky pictures taken by me.
The girls and I came very close to moving this past year. We really wanted a larger home, but in the end, we decided to stay. None of us could bear to leave. As small as it is, we are very attached to this little house, and we all have shared many wonderful memories here. This is our home. Storage will continue to be a constant challenge, and we have this leak we've been trying to find for about 3 years--I think we're getting close to getting the upper hand. We also have an ongoing battle with the feisty tree lizards that claim they were here first. In fact, we have interloper hibernating in the house this winter. Every time we threw him out, he would look for an opportunity to run back in the front door. Now he resides under the book shelf, only coming out to sun himself under the Christmas tree. His name is Fido. I'm happy we decided to stay--there is no place like home. Maybe I just need a little kitchen renovation this year. ;)
I was so inspired by the kitchen in "It's Complicated." Thanks to andKathleen for sending me these on Twitter.

I hope everyone is having a great Christmas--it snowed like I have never seen before in Texas! Completely beautiful!! I think this is the first white Christmas ever for Jane and Carol...
Jane in a thrifted leopard coat her grandparents found for her at the thrift store. Me, trying to get packages in! The snow made for a great Christmas Eve.
Coby Brown is one of my favorite musicians and husband of dear friend Ever Carradine. He is up for "Discovery of the Year" on XM radio. If you have a moment, please go here and vote for him! I would be forever grateful!
Off to wrap now....

We received more photos from le Bal. I know some of these are a bit repetitive, but I thought you all would enjoy seeing them. I didn't take my camera that evening, although I would have liked to. You can click on all of these images to view them in larger form.
The official photo--and one below having fun...
Frances Fisher, Kathy Lette, Forest Whitaker and wife Keisha, and me....
Forest Whitaker takes his daughter Autumn for the first waltz.
I cleaned out my closet this weekend, so I'm going to take a photo as promised. Hope everyone had a great weekend, and I hope you all are not getting too stressed by the holidays!!

I feel like I have neglected my blog all week. I've been so busy with Christmas and helping Jane out, and of course the site too. I recently found this vintage lapin coat on E-bay. Lapin is nothing but sheared rabbit, but somehow lapin sounds better. This coat is so obviously from the 80's---I love the exaggerated swing. Here is a link to the sellers site--she always has great things!
This coat is so warm too. We've had an unusually cold winter this year...
My favorite Chloe boots. Jeans from Madewell. I love their jeans. They come in different lengths, and are quite affordable. I'm over ridiculously priced jeans.
By the way, Karen and I are going to shut the site down for the year on Monday morning, and Monday will be our last day to ship, so if you're thinking about anything, you'll want to make your purchase before Monday morning. To date--all orders have been shipped, and are on their way!
We plan to re-open early January with a big sale!

As you all probably know by now, my home was built in the 70's, and this was long before walk in closets were considered a necessity. Actually in my house they were barely considered at all. I've done some renovations to improve my storage, but there is never enough closet space. I really love my home but, even if I dreamed up the perfect closet, there would be no place to put it in my home....I feel like this most days.

I found some images of my dream closets....
This could be a little too organized for me. Domino Magazine.
This would be fantastic...that's probably the size of my living room. photo-lastylistmom.com
Actually, mine looks a little like Nicole's--just smaller. (get wooden hangers Nicole!)

Rachel Zoe in her closet---I imagine this is a tiny fraction of her wardrobe, love her purple dress.

This is my ultimate dream. A dressing room with a big comfy sofa. This would be perfect! Jenna Lyons dressing room--I think this was featured in Domino.
Thanks for all of the recommendations for tailors in Dallas!

This picture by artist Isabelle Oziol de Pignol recently appeared on a french site. The article was about mothers that are proud of their daughters--it was very touching. Thank You Isabelle! Here is a link to the article...
Don't forget--the site re-opens tonight at 9:00 pm central time. Here is a pre-view.
Parting with one of my beloved CR lion belts!
Quick question for Dallas readers--does anyone have a great alterations shop they can recommend?

Jane and I had so much fun in Paris meeting up with fellow blogger Sarah Winchester. Sarah was on her honeymoon with her husband Steve Curry, and Jane and I were honored that they chose to spend an evening with us during such a special time. Sarah is a graphic artist living in Boston and has a great blog that covers fashion, home interiors, and lots of travel among other things. Definitely go have a look. Here is a photo of Jane, Sarah and me....
All of us love shoes!!!
This is an amazing photo of the Eiffel Tower taken by Sarah.....
Sarah also sent me these great photos she snapped while vintage shopping in Spain. I think this coat and boots belong together.
Looking forward to much more from Sarah's blog, thanks for sharing all the photos! Here is a picture of me with Frances Fisher, Kiesha Whitaker, and one of the other moms from the ball found on Marie Claire's website. Frances Fisher looked stunning!!
I wanted to thank everyone for shopping on the site. It was more successful than I imagined. Karen and I have decided to shut the site down and restock one more time before Christmas. We will close the site Monday morning the 7th, and re-open with new items on Friday the 11th.

Here are few pictures of the girls---
Sorry this is not such a great photo--we are all waiting (im)patiently for more pictures to be posted on line.
These are a few pictures that I took the day before the ball, when the girls were being photographed and doing all of their interviews. They all looked so beautiful!
Jane with Autumn Whitaker and Francesca Eastwood.
Below is a picture I took of Lady Kitty Spencer--niece of Princess Diana. (and Jane) She looks gorgeous! The press was harsh on her. Way to ruin a girls evening! I saw her first thing Sunday morning without a stitch of make-up and she is truly beautiful!
