Sorry for the crummy pic!! I'm pairing this with an incredibly fun 80's statement necklace made from braided leather and turquoise.
These two were made for each other. Stop It Right Now sent me this great photo of an incredible koi fish belt. Now that is a belt!! Thanks J.

I wanted to post this picture of me wearing the beetle belt with jeans so everyone could get an idea of the size in relation to a person wearing it. I wore this outfit to a shoe event at Barney's with Simon Doonan.
Very old Donna Karan blazer, Giuseppe Zanotti shoes, Currrent Elliot jeans.
They held a drawing at the shoe event, and yours truly one a free pair of Manolo's!!! Here is a pic snapped by the BagSnob of me when Simon announced my name as the winner.....I look pretty surprised right? I never win anything!
Update on our retail site--We are currently trying to get our domain out of the jaws of NameSecure and over to Network Solutions---this is apparently much more difficult than it sounds--we are hoping for resolution soon. We have all of the photos ready to upload just as soon as we can get onto our site---I apologize for this--we are so frustrated!!

Does this face look guilty to you? Remember Fido, the freeloading lizard? (I know you can all tell where this is going.)
This handsome guy? Well--while Jane and I were in NY in February, Townsend chomped Fido. It was assumed that Fido was a goner. His stiff body was placed in the garden out front. I received the news via e-mail while in NY. I was really pretty upset--I know he's just a lizard, but I had grown quite fond of the little guy. He had been living in and around our house for a year at least.
Last week we had our first batch of nice weather,(minus of course the freak snow storm on Saturday) and guess who I found sunbathing on my front porch??
Yep--that's Fido for sure. I assure everyone Fido is quite well, and even looking a little fat. Fido will stay outside where lizards belong from now on, no matter what his thoughts are on the matter. I'm just very relieved and happy to know that he is okay--now he just needs to work on that new tail!
Yesterday was my Birthday, and Carol made this beautiful arrangement of tulips for me.....Happy Spring Everyone!!

I think I have mentioned that my sister and I have been working on producing our own jewelry and belt line. Well--finally we can unveil the first piece!! We are both so excited!! Karen (sister) used the lost wax method to design this beetle buckle. Karen has collected and used insects in her artwork since she was a child, so it was natural to design a large beetle as our first offering. We will offer the line for sale in about 60 days and will have approx. 10 pieces including more belts, and necklaces.
The beetle belt is cast of solid bronze and hand finished, and weighs just a little over a pound. He measures 9 inches long and 3 .5 inches wide. We will be designing and hand finishing the belt that fits the buckle as well. This belt will retail for $600. If you would like to pre-order a beetle belt, send me an e-mail at judy@judyaldridge.com. Jane is with friends in Austin attending SXSW, but she promises to style and shoot the beetle belt when she returns.

I've read recently that Alabama Chanin has a new book out. I haven't purchased it yet, but found a photo of it on Amazon....
It looks pretty great...I'll have to check it out. Maybe over spring break. A little over a year ago, I posted my Alabama Chanin type DIY projects, and I still get a lot of questions about them. Here they are again.
Natalie details how to make this skirt in her first book--Alabama Stitch Book. It's really quite easy, and a lot of fun. I bleached my t-shirts first by putting them in the washer dry, randomly splashing bleach, then regular wash.
These are just old fashioned yoyo's with beading in between.....
My jacket was a little more ambitious. I cut up a jean type jacket from Target, and made my own pattern by tracing onto newspaper. Easier than it sounds--I promise.
I used my industrial sewing machine, and stitched all over for a heavy quilted effect. (I also triple layered the t-shirts when I cut the jacket from the pattern for substance.)
Close up shot of the machine quilting....
I used a different color of t-shirt for the inside lining for contrast. Afterwards, I did all of the looping. I just cut strips of T-shirt, and held them in place while I went over them with my machine--I trimmed them up neatly at the end.
Don't miss the Dolly Johnson Arts and Antique show starting tomorrow in Ft Worth-Click here for more info!!

I've been searching for the perfect black pants for some time. I wanted something above the ankle with a very narrow cut. Found at J. Crew. Here is the link. These are the best pants for shoes and jackets. They have a little stretch, and zip in the back. (best of all--they seem to repel pet hair!!!)
It seems I'm working my way through the studded Prada and Miu Miu collection--wearing Fall/09 Pradas with incredible vintage Adolfo sweater trimmed in mink from Archive Vintage.
