Winding down from a very busy week. I had mentioned earlier, Sam from StyleSwoon is helping me update my home--what I didn't mention was that a local magazine will be covering the renovation process. We thought the shoot was in May, but the shoot date was moved up to Tuesday! Sam and I have been up until the wee hours killing a bottle of wine and pulling everything together--well, it's mostly Sam. I can't wait to show you all the finished product.
Once again our site is open. I apologize for the disastrous first launch--we had a lot of bugs to work out. I'm feeling pretty confident that it's ready now. Karen has been busy adding a lot of new things--go have a look here....Please let us know via e-mail if you have any problems.
Karen picked up our first batch of beetles--she is busy polishing each one, and making the belts. We plan on shipping when I return from Tokyo May 6th. I think they look incredible. One definitely has my name on it!

Recently I was invited to the studio of one of Dallas's most talented local designers--Elizabeth Anyaa.
I had such a great time touring her studio, and seeing all of the very diverse things that Elizabeth makes. Elizabeth is originally from Sierra Leone, but studied textile design in Finland, and then later Maryland. Eventually her studies brought her to Dallas where she now resides. Elizabeth's pieces are very tactile and full of color--she fuses different fabrics together in her own unique style making the most amazing fabrics you have ever seen--honestly. There are endless ways to layer Elizabeth's scarves, vests and jackets. The entire line is very organic. Lots of richly textured wool, silk chiffon and silk velvet.
Elizabeth herself is so beautiful! Her warm nature is infectious--she cannot go five minutes without giving a hug.
Here are some of Elizabeth's hand painted silk camisoles----
Velvet tie dyed pillows---
Elizabeth loaned us a few pieces for a photo shoot--
Inside of Elizabeth's studio--felted vase sculptures.
As luck would have it, while we had her pieces on loan, we had nothing but pouring rain!! I'm on my way to her studio now to return items and get a glimpse of her fall line--Jane and I will definitely share more of Elizabeth's work in future posts.

Nathalie from Hanna Bernhard sent some new pieces over from Paris. Jane and I wanted to shoot them differently than we did last time, so we went to the Japanese Garden inside of the Ft. Worth Botanical Gardens.
It was a beautiful day....here is the insect necklace.
I love how the actual necklace looks like a second set of antenna.
Amazing!!!
Here is the fabulous lion necklace that I wore to Sam's event the other night.
The totally incredible Walrus.....
The Japanese gardens are beautiful. The girls used to love to go when they were little and feed the Koi fish. Jane and I found so much great light, I think we barely made it twenty yards into the gardens. This means we have a whole new story waiting for us there.....
I wore a Jelly Garcia jumper purchased in Tokyo last summer.
Celine wedges.
Inside the rock garden.....
I snapped this photo of my favorite T-Rex. I call her "Mother Rex." (I have days like this)
All for now...Jane and I are counting down the days until we leave for Japan.

More shoes from Celine. I took these pictures at Barneys. I love this lace up sandal.
It's hard to see from this photo, but is has a nude leather insert that wraps across the front....next, a different version of the wedge. I love this shoe too, it reminds me of Japan.
Neiman's just got the Prada chandelier lucite mules. (thanks Chauss) I had to have them. I know these are kind of a love hate shoe, but I love them! (they are extremely loud however.) I loved all of the Miu Miu shoes for spring too, but I've been a little disappointed with what is actually being shipped. Jane managed to snag a pair of the satin platforms (thanks again Chauss) and they are really incredible.
