Today Jane and I went into Dallas to see Archive Vintage. Archive Vintage is my favorite vintage store in Dallas. I was actually visiting today to bring back a Valentino skirt I had on approval for Carol to wear to Le Bal, but Carol doesn't want to wear vintage. A shame, the skirt is beautiful, and it's still there. Jane and I did some looking around for ourselves to0...of course...
This Pauline Trigere is wonderful. (sorry for my less than great pictures today)
Close up of the jeweled neckline.
This jeweled caftan is a work of art--sorry the name escapes me, it was an unusual designer.
Jane and I both went crazy for this YSL skirt. The print is so great, and so YSL.
Jane trying on velvet YSL knickers suit...
This is a beautiful 80's Anne Klein obviously designed by Donna Karan.
Gorgeous party dress by Pauline Trigere....You don't have to come to Dallas to shop at Archive Vintage, Kerry has a great on line site. Definitely have a look!
I want to thank everyone that left a comment on the comment post. Lots of really great responses! I would love see more discussions on this subject....
Love the blog & the first dress!

I have a YSL cardigan with a similar print as that skirt. It has really cool Roman coin buttons too.
The quality on the velvet suits always amazes me, the trim and the rich lining make them very special.

That jewelled kaftan is gorgeous! And the YSL knickerbocker pants are so cute! I used to live in a similar purple suit (although this was in the 80's, and I was say, 10...wouldn't mind reviving the look!) :)

I love seeing what vintage finds you buy, sell, keep, and admire. I'm wondering how often you find yourself drawn to vintage clothing that does not have a major label, or a label at all! And I guess... what it is that entices you to those particular pieces? I'm vintage-obsessed at the moment, and would love to hear how you (and Jane) feel about this.
