Once again this year Jane, Carol and I donated chairs to the Branded Auction. I purchased the chairs at a consignment store and had them recovered in plain canvas, and the very talented children at Cook Children's Hospital turned them into works of art! For more information about Branded go here. Last year over $200,000 was raised for the Palliative Care Unit at Cook Childrens! The chairs will be auctioned tonight--so hoping they bring a lot!! Also, I wonder if they will stay together, or go to separate homes?
I think this is such a great project that any school or charitable organization can easily do. Just remember to put lots of clear coat on the finished product. E-mail me if you have questions.
This was a real group effort, and I want to thank everyone that pitched in to help!
Beautiful Chairs, beautiful charity!

Great creative idea to raise money for a worthy cause - I hope they did well at auction. The black and wite shots are particularly nice.
I was thinking about all the different dsigns you could do on a plain chair, from a natural theme (flowers, leaves, trees) to Mondrian style colour blocks or fashion illustrations. So many options to explore!
I wwas also wondering if you got my email Judy? I'd love to hear your response.

Judy, how wonderful! Glad you are doing this! I would love to know the hot pink color you painted the chairs...? I want to do something similar in my new house! Let me know please! :) My email is [email protected] or you can respond on here!

Oh my goodness! These chairs are brilliant! I absolutely adore them. I hope these fabulous pieces raise tons of money. I'd love to do a similar project for a local school my church has adopted. Did the children paint the entire chair, or just the cushions?
I agree with Lindsay & would love to know the name of the pink paint you used.
